…thanks for your visit.
I hope you’ll enjoy being here among some of my personal writing and photographs.
I’m not trying to build a following or show off to potential employers, and if it’s only my daughter and a few other people who get something meaningful from the visits, I’ll be delighted.
In my day job, I’ve led content that’s had tens of millions of people visiting and commenting, but here it’s just about you and me.
Please have a seat and enjoy the reading, and do look upwards occasionally to enjoy the pictures on the wall — because I’ll be showing photographs here and there, sometimes without any relevance to the text around them. It’s lovely to have a moment to pause and look around: thinking time, perhaps.
If this were a physical reading area, I’d offer you a plush leather armchair, with beautiful books and photographs all around. You’d be able to call on endless hot drinks and maybe the occasional tipple.
I might talk about these things in particular:
— photography and art
— medicine and science
— driving and cars
— international development
